“Don’t leave your tongue in gear
while your brain is idling.”

I spotted this sign Friday at the church where I attended the Chick-Fil-A Leadercast (of which I still need to blog about).

“To all moms:
Our thanks and prayers!”

Additionally, I have an applicable Bible verse:

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction,
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
They will be a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.” – Proverbs 1:8-9

“The best thing to spend on your children is time”

That church sign is kind of ironic in that I am leaving this afternoon for a business trip. Luckily it is a quick one and I’ll be back Thursday evening. And with it raining all this last weekend, we spent quite a bit of time with the kids going to church, playing games, reading or going to my oldest daughter’s play.

“Spring is for planting seeds.
What are you planting?”

“Get rich quick.
Count your blessings.”

“God built a bridge from death to life
with 2 boards and 3 nails”

And how appropriate is this sign on Easter Sunday.

He has risen!

I spotted this sign on the way home from my wife’s Emmaus follow up meeting.

“Google can’t fulfill every search”

I’m not going to leave this message alone without saying that I believe God intentionally made a God shaped hole in our beings that can only be filled by Him. We try to fill it with knowledge, logic, sex, money, power, food, alcohol, drugs, art, hobbies, people, family, new age philosophies, and almost anything else but Him.

So if you are searching; if you feel a hole; if you have tried some or all of the above to fill that hole to no avail, why don’t you try the risen Christ who loves you more than you will ever know. He is worth more than all that Google could or ever will find. Hence the reason for the sign from God.

This church sign is in honor of my wife. She is currently on her Emmaus Walk. On my Emmaus Walk two weeks ago, she included this church sign in my letter that I received Sunday afternoon. It is very appropriate and applicable.

“A family altar can alter a family.”

So true.
